CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is a time when we explore our faith through weekly meetings and other activities to learn more about Jesus and make a deeper commitment of being a disciple of Christ.  This will also be a time for you to decide whether to join the church and/or be baptized (if you haven’t already been baptized).  It is also a time when you learn more about the United Methodist Church.

Confirmation classes will begin in January 2024. Be on the lookout for more information.

We are a Safe Sanctuaries Congregation!

The General conference of the United Methodist Church, in April 1996, and the Western North Carolina Annual Conference, in June 2004, adopted resolutions aimed at reducing the risk of abuse of children and youth in the church. This would include sexual, emotional, physical and ritual abuse and neglect.

The purpose for establishing our Safe Sanctuary policy and the procedures is to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth in all of our children and youth in the church. In all of our ministries with children and youth, our congregation is committed to demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ so that each child and youth will be “surrounded by steadfast love, established in the faith and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal”.

Safe Sanctuary Trainings are held regularly. Background Checks are done on all staff and volunteers who work with our children/youth at the church.

Special events happen often throughout the year, so watch our calendar and follow First Youth on instagram, and make sure to like our First Youth Asheboro page on Facebook to keep up with everything that is going on here with First Youth.
