Malachi 3:10 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.
The theme for this year’s stewardship campaign is A way of life. A way to love. That is our mission here at First UMC, to love the people around us, and to bless them as we have been so blessed by God. We recognize that everything we have is a gift from God and want to return a portion of God’s generosity with our financial gifts to support the mission of Christ’s Church.
SAVE THE DATE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH
We will celebrate all of the great things our church has done in 2017, at our stewardship luncheon celebration Sunday, November 12th, at 12:30. This is a free meal (however donations are always welcome) for all of us in the church. You need not be a member to attend. As we eat together and marvel at Gods work over the past year, we will look to the future and all the good that lies ahead. Then as a church we will have the opportunity to make a pledge for the following year, so we can plan and dream into our future. New ways to love, new ways to grow, and new ways to build God’s kingdom here in Asheboro, and throughout the earth. Watch your email for an evite, your mail for an invitation and in your bulletins on Sunday morning to RSVP so we can celebrate Gods goodness, together as our whole church with people from all 4 services.

Frequently Asked Questions
A pledge is not a gift made today. Rather, a pledge is your promise to provide a certain amount of financial support to the work of Christ’s church in the year ahead. Each fall, members are asked to complete a pledge card for the year ahead, so the finance committee can plan for the coming year’s budget. We understand that things change, so a pledge is never a commitment, rather a guideline for us as we plan the coming year.
FUMC asks for our pledge now, so that our leadership can plan the program life of the church for the year ahead, and do so with a balanced budget. Making an annual stewardship pledge is a commitment of your financial support for the coming year. You may fulfill your pledge on any schedule that meets your needs – weekly, monthly, quarterly or in one lump sum.
The vitality of our church depends on your ongoing, committed support. This support includes your financial commitment, participation in worship and other parish activities, including the offering of your time and talent.
A pledge lets you plan your charitable giving for the year ahead, makes tax accounting easier, and allows us to fulfill our mission sharing the love of Jesus Christ.
